The Milan Congestion Charge Zone
-restricted traffic area -"Area C", has been suspended by the State
Council. The suspension was announced on Wednesday evening by the
Municipality of Milan. The State Council upheld the appeal of a car
repair garage, Mediolanum Parking, situated in the centre of the
restricted traffic area. The ruling of the judges has immediate effect:
as from Thursday, July 26, the traffic restrictions are suspended and
the control cameras have been turned off. A summer suspension of "Area
C" for the month of August was already scheduled, but at this point the
congestion charge zone, which entered into force on 16 January 2012,
should remain suspended at least until the middle of September.
