December 24th - Monica Vinader, YSL & DVF

Dear reader I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

It is Christmas and I have 3 presents to unpack in my “pakkekalender” today. We are celebrating Christmas in Denmark <3 and we drove all the way from Italy with a stop in Zurich to have dinner with some wonderful friends. It was a long drive from Zurich (Switzerland) to Haslev (Denmark), but it was nice with snacks, Christmas music and the company of the love of my life! But it made it difficult to reach the internet from the Autobahn, so therefore I did not post my “pakkekalender” the last two days.

This is what I would love to wear tonight at our Christmas dinner: Monica Vinader Nugget 18-karat gold-plated moonstone earrings, Yves Saint Laurent Tribtoo suede pumps and a beautiful Diane Von Furstenberg New Jeannie Two printed silk-jersey wrap dress!

December 1st - Julie Sandlau

Christmas is near – YAY! I love December with all its Christmassy wonders. Milan lights up like a Christmas tree, so it does not matter that it is cold and dark. Even in the fog (which is typical for Milan) the lights make everything bright and help the holiday spirit along. I have got a candle that counts the days until Christmas – it is apparently a very Danish tradition (Thanks Annette for bringing it from Denmark!).

When I was a child my mother would make a Christmas calendar that had a present for us every day till Dec 24^th in Danish it is called a “pakkekalender”.  It was fantastically magical to wake up excited to see what was in today’s present. Unfortunately I am no longer a child and hence do not get a present every day of December. Nevertheless I am going to pretend and throughout December I will post something that I would love to be giving for “pakkekalender”. It is never too late to be childish – especially around Christmas ;-).  

Today I would love to unpack these earrings from the Danish designer Julie Sandlau.

Shopping in the great USA

Last week I was in the great States of America to visit family and friends. The Twin Cities in Minnesota – Minneapolis/St. Paul and the beautiful country side of Wisconsin!

As always, I got excited about the American made items that are better priced than in Europe and with the dollar in our favor, why not go for it.

The best buy was the Olympus camera XZ-1 a fantastic point and shoot!
In Banana Republic I bought a black long sleeve shirt and a classic skirt from the petit line, so it fits perfectly to my 163CM J In a charming shop in “Uptown” Minneapolis I found the t-shirt you see in the middle – nice and loose! Aveda hair products are made in Minnesota and therefore half the price of Europe. The same is the case for Redken and KMS J

In Barnes and Noble I found a wonderful calendar for 2012 with shoes – can’t wait till next year  so that I can replace the French landscape that is the theme for our 2011 calendar, although also beautiful. In this great bookstore, with a Starbucks attached, I also found books about Blogging, Yoga and Fashion.

A few carmex, daily multivitamin, Tony Bennett Duets CD,  American vogue and BIG earrings raps it up :-)
